Came across this recipe and it is SO good & SO SIMPLE! I call it the "hamburger-less HOMEMADE helper".

makes 4 servings ~ cook & prep time: 35 minutes

8 ounces uncooked shaped pasta (wheels, fusilli, or other)* i love it with radiatore!
8 ounces uncooked bacon, diced
½ onion, chopped ( or 1 tblsp. Dry minced onion flakes)
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp. Dried oregano, divided
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce ( I like to use “four cheese” spaghetti sauce instead)
1 tsp. Hot pepper sauce
1 ½ cups (6 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup dry bread crumbs
1 tblsp. Melted butter
Parmesan or mozzarella cheese, if desired

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Meanwhile, cook bacon in a large ovenproof skillet over medium heat until crisp; take out bacon pieces & leave drippings in skillet. Add onion, garlic, and 1 tsp. Oregano to skillet with bacon drippings; cook and stir about 3 minutes or until onion is tender. Stir in tomato sauce and hot pepper sauce. Add cooked pasta, bacon and cheddar cheese to skillet. Stir to coat. combine bread crumbs, remaining 1 tsp. Oregano, and melted butter in a small bowl. Sprinkle over pasta mixture. Bake about 5 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Garnish, if desired, with parmesan or mozzarella cheese on top.
