WHITE TEXAS SHEET CAKE

This is just as sweet and rich as the chocolate version! Easy & great for parties (and Sunday afternoons when you feel like EATING CAKE all by yourself!).

makes 1 lg. sheet ~ cook & prep time: 40 min.

1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup water
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup milk
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Bring butter & water to boil. Stir in rest of ingredients until smooth. Pour into greased 15x10x1 inch baking sheet. Bake @ 375 degrees for 20-22 minutes until golden brown and tests down with a toothpick. For frosting: bring butter & milk to boil. Add & mix remaining ingredients. Spread on warm cake.
