Chocolate, ice cream, cool whip, and candy canes. Doesn't get more festive than this! If you make this the night before you want to serve it, you won't even have to think about dessert after slaving in the kitchen all day!

2/3 pkg. Oreos, crushed
1 cube butter, melted
1/2 gallon Peppermint ice cream (seasonal - can make your own by thawing vanilla till soft then mixing in red food coloring, crushed candy canes, and 2 tsp. peppermint extract)
1 jar or batch Chocolate Fudge (see blog for recipe)
1 container Cool Whip
1/2 cup or more crushed candy canes

Combine melted butter and oreos. Form crust on a greased 9 1/2 x 13 in. glass pan/dish. Cover with foil and freeze for at least an hour. Let ice cream sit for a few minutes until spreadable then spread ice cream over oreo crust. Place in freezer and freeze for 1-2 hours. Make chocolate fudge (or use jar), let cool a bit then spread over ice cream layer QUICKLY. It's ok if ice cream "peeks through" this layer. Freeze again for another hour. Then top with cool whip and sprinkle candy cane pieces on top. Cover with foil and freeze until ready to serve. Then cut into squares using spatula.
